We compare what the media report with what the data say
What doesn't add up
The big story: claims that don't match official data, ranked by weight (how far off, how many outlets repeat them and how recent), facts on which outlets give different figures, who contradicts themselves and who adds up the most. Same method for everyone: we don't say anyone lies, we say which figure they gave, what the data says and where to check it.
Claims that don't match the data
Weight = verdict × deviation from official data × outlets repeating the figure × recency (halved every 30 days).

Inflación interanual (ES): Published 3,7 % · data says 4,9 % · off by 25 %
3,7 %4,9 %
«Eleva su expectativa de inflación al 3,7% en 2026.»
The same person, party or outlet gives different figures for the same indicator, territory and period.
No contradictions detected in what we checked.
Who adds up the most
False or misleading claims out of everything checked against official data in the last year. With few checks the number says little, so we always show the total.
