Quando Jorge Henrique Dumont Dodsworth nasceu, em 25 de agosto de 1926, seu tio-avô Alberto Santos Dumont estava vivo. O pai da aviação costumava visitar com frequência os parentes no Rio de Janeiro . Foi em uma dessas passagens que o aviador consertou a bicicleta do garoto e o ajudou a dar as primeiras pedaladas.
