Following statements by Vladimir Putin and Dmitry Peskov confirming prospective trilateral talks in Abu Dhabi, Russian foreign policy analysts and lawmakers outlined maximalist objectives aimed at redrawing European security. Valdai Club analyst Stanislav Tkachenko and RIAC’s Dmitri Trenin noted that Moscow seeks a return to its December 2021 NATO pullback demands, asset unfreezing, sanctions relief, and expanded territorial claims, while projecting that fighting could continue into 2027.
